Q & A
How to start working with Matt?
Please send me an email (matt.biegala@gmail.com) with very brief description of what you would like to work on (one, two sentences). Also include information about your location (or time zone) and your time preferences. I will reply you within 12-24 hours. Once the date & time & rate are fixed, I will send you link to Google Meet (it could be accessed via browser or app). Also, depending on your location I will send you the invoice for the bank transfer (HK, PL, WISE). I would require transfer before the beginning of the session. There’s also a 24h cancellation policy
How online sessions work?
According to recent research, online sessions work as well as in-person one. We would use either Google Meet or Zoom for our sessions. Before session, the link will be sent to you. Each individual therapy session lasts for 50 minutes. In most cases we use audio and video modes. You can use blurred background if you prefer. Please ensure you have privacy, which means you can talk freely and there is no one else to listen to us.
Confidentiality and data protection
Sessions are confidential. The rare exceptions to it (expressed intention of serious harm or self-harm) are briefly discussed during the first session.
How the sessions usually look like?
Sessions are well-structured unless we decide for more open indirect approach. They are followed by regular assignments that give invaluable insight into the thought and emotion processes occurring between sessions. Also, the various inspiring reading & listening materials are being suggested. We work in a spirit of non-judgemental collaboration. From time to time, if there’s such need and willingness, we will include a family member or partner. Such a joint session proves out to be very useful and practical.
